‘The Fabric of Liberty’ Fine Art Giclee Print – Liberty of London

‘The Fabric of Liberty’

A conceptual painting of the Liberty of London store.

As featured in ‘The Liberty Book’ spring 2020 edition. This painting was selected in a competition calling for original artwork interpretations of the building to celebrate the launch of restoration works, and be featured in The Liberty Book.

It depicts the historical story behind the mock-Tudor building; The store was built using the wood from 2 warships – the HMS Hindostan and the HMS Impregnable. The painting shows the store being created from the ships, and sailing on a sea of that iconic William Morris design fabric.

The original painting is created with pen and ink with watercolour by local artist Jo South.
